James V. "Jay" Madary II
President and CEO since 2007

Jay is the second-generation owner, and has been active in the business since 1997. His formal education is from Northern Illinois University where Jay earned a B.S. in Finance. However, he began his informal education very early on working "hands on" in the business alongside his father, and also held various positions in the building industry, including U.S. Gypsum Company. Jay has assembled a team of highly qualified and dedicated senior executives and key associates, who share his vision, his integrity, and his ethics creating a team that is adamantly focused on the same goals.
Chief Investment Officer
Steve joined JVM in 2005 and has been a JVM investor since 2001. Steve spent 23 years at Baxter International, including roles as Vice President of International Finance & Operations and Corporate Treasurer. Steve holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, as well as an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Steve is a licensed State of Illinois C.P.A.
Chief Financial Officer
Jason has over 20 years of experience in multi-family real estate. Jason joined JVM in 2005 as a Financial Analyst and Director of Property Management Software, was promoted to Asset Manager in December of 2007, promoted to Controller in 2009 and promoted to Vice President of Finance in June of 2017. Most recently Jason was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in March of 2018. Jason's background includes 4 years as Property Manager, and 4 years as the Director of Property Management Software for a Chicago based multifamily owner.
Sam joined JVM in 2017 after more than a decade working with JVM as an attorney in private practice. His responsibilities include all JVM legal matters, including transactions and corporate affairs. Sam brings more than 15 years of experience representing commercial real estate investment companies, lenders and developers in acquisitions, dispositions, financings and deal structuring. He holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
Alan Englander, J.D.
Senior Vice President of Business Development
Alan joined JVM in 2002. He received his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Illinois, Chicago and his J.D. from the Thomas Cooley Law School. Alan has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 1990. He specializes in building relationships and has extensive experience with accounting, legal, property tax, collection and insurance services.
Vice President of Investor Relations
Mae joined JVM in 2010 and has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. She is responsible for development of fund offerings, marketing, fund administration, and investor reporting and communications for JVM. Mae received her B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Vice President of Capital Markets
Jon joined JVM in 2017 and has over 35 years of experience attracting, retaining and promoting long term relationships with the industry's most successful financial advisors and their clients. He received his B.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Jon is a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Life Underwriter.
Vice President of Operations
Lecia brings 25 years of multi-family management expertise to JVM. Prior to joining JVM, Lecia worked at AIMCO for 15 years most recently as the Vice President of Operations for their Western Division where she managed 5 Regional Managers, 4 General Managers and a portfolio of 37 conventional and affordable communities in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Missouri. Lecia gained experience on site as both a Property Manager and Leasing Consultant when she began her career. Lecia is an Accredited Real Estate Manager, (A.R.M.) and holds an Illinois Real Estate Broker's License.
Vice President of Construction and Maintenance
Kevin has over 20 years of experience in construction management, maintenance, residential development, renovation, and risk management. Prior to joining JVM, Kevin was the Director of Construction Operations for Cunat, Inc., where he managed the Construction Division, capital improvements, and facilities management activities for a portfolio of 4,000 apartments in 22 locations. Prior to his return to Cunat, Kevin spent 4 years with Remsing Construction as Construction Manager. Kevin began his career as Risk Manager at Cunat, Inc.in 1995. Kevin has a B.S. in Finance from Illinois State University and an M.B.A. from Webster University in St. Louis.
Dave joined JVM in 2017 and has extensive experience in both compliance and accounting. Dave received his BBA from Loyola University and his MS in Taxation from DePaul University and is a State of Illinois CPA.
Vice President of Human Resources
Ashish serves as Vice President of Human Resources for the entire JVM Group. In this role he is responsible for all people-related functions including compensation, benefits, diversity, employee relations, compliance, government relations, training, employee communications, HR policy, performance management, talent acquisition, talent management, employment law, strategic planning, and an advisor to senior leadership team at the corporate level. Ashish brings more than 20 years of strategic HR experience from mid to large size companies where he managed the global HR department.
Vice President of Technology and Business Process
Kortney brings 11 years of Property Management experience to JVM. Prior to JVM, Kortney worked for AIMCO in a variety of positions including, Regional Sales Training Manager, and Compliance Standards Manager for AIMCO's Midwest Division. Most recently, Kortney was the Community Manager of a 348 unit community where she oversaw daily operations, and successfully directed an $11M construction project. Kortney gained experience early in her career as a Leasing Consultant and Community Relations Coordinator. She is a Licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker, Certified Occupancy Specialist, (COS) and a certified RealPage, OneSite Trainer.
