James V. "Jay" Madary II
President and CEO since 2007

Jay is the second-generation owner, and has been active in the business since 1997. His formal education is from Northern Illinois University where Jay earned a B.S. in Finance. However, he began his informal education very early on working "hands on" in the business alongside his father, and also held various positions in the building industry, including U.S. Gypsum Company. Jay has assembled a team of highly qualified and dedicated senior executives and key associates, who share his vision, his integrity, and his ethics creating a team that is adamantly focused on the same goals.
Steven J. Meyer
Chief Financial Officer
Steve joined JVM in 2005 and has been a JVM investor since 2001. Steve's background includes 23 years with Baxter International, including 5 years as Vice President of International Finance and Operations, and 7 years as Corporate Treasurer. Steve holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Steve is a licensed State of Illinois C.P.A.
William "Whit" Annibali
Vice President of Investments
Whit joined JVM in 2012, and has over 15 years’ experience in real estate investments. Whit’s background includes 11 years with Duke Realty Corporation, most recently as Vice President of Dispositions. ”Whit” started his career as an Underwriter for Sanwa Business Credit Corporation in their Real Estate Finance and Commercial Finance Divisions. Whit has a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University, Boston and an M.B.A. from Washington University, St. Louis.
Alan Englander, J.D.
Senior Vice President of Business Development
Alan is the Senior Vice President of Business Development at JVM. He received his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and his J.D. from the Thomas Cooley Law School. Alan has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 1990 and joined JVM in 2002.
Vice President of Investor Relations
Mae received her B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has been with JVM since 2010, where she runs the day-to-day operations of the Investor Relations department. Mae worked in the banking industry for many years, including being Vice President of Middle Market Development for Citicorp's Diner's Club division.
Vice President Of Capital Markets
Ryan joined JVM in 2016 and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services and investment industries. Most recently he served as vice president of national sales and business development for APRO II, LLC, a private equity multifamily fund sponsored by America First Real Estate Group. After studying finance at California State University - Fullerton, Ryan began his career as an equity trader and grew to become an expert in the structuring, development, sales and distribution of various investor programs to Independent Registered Investment Advisors and Wealth Managers and their clients.
Vice President of Operations
Lecia brings 25 years of multi-family management expertise to JVM. Prior to joining JVM, Lecia worked at AIMCO for 15 years most recently as the Vice President of Operations for their Western Division where she managed 5 Regional Managers, 4 General Managers and a portfolio of 37 conventional and affordable communities in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Missouri. Lecia gained experience on site as both a Property Manager and Leasing Consultant when she began her career. Lecia is an Accredited Real Estate Manager, (A.R.M.) and holds an Illinois Real Estate Broker's License.
Mary L. Herrold
Vice President of Marketing and Innovation
Mary joined JVM in 2012 and brings 26 years of multi-family marketing expertise to the company. Throughout her career she has won awards while working for esteemed firms such as RREEF and The Marquette Companies. She was President of I On Marketing, a firm specializing in marketing, sales and training for the Multi-family industry. Her experience spans the spectrum of all asset classes, strategies and market tiers. Mary is the creative force behind the JVM brand and the innovator of our SMART Marketing program. She is a nationally known speaker, author, and an active member of the CREW network. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Theatre from Western Michigan University, and is a licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker.
Jason has over 15 years of experience in multi-family real estate. Jason joined JVM in 2005 as a Financial Analyst and Director of Property Management Software, was promoted to Asset Manager in December of 2007, and promoted to Controller in 2009. Jason's background includes 4 years as Property Manager, and 4 years as the Director of Property Management Software for a Chicago based multifamily owner.
Vice President of Construction and Maintenance
Kevin has over 20 years of experience in construction management, maintenance, residential development, renovation, and risk management. Prior to joining JVM, Kevin was the Director of Construction Operations for Cunat, Inc., where he managed the Construction Division, capital improvements, and facilities management activities for a portfolio of 4,000 apartments in 22 locations. Prior to his return to Cunat, Kevin spent 4 years with Remsing Construction as Construction Manager. Kevin began his career as Risk Manager at Cunat, Inc.in 1995. Kevin has a B.S. in Finance from Illinois State University and an M.B.A. from Webster University in St. Louis.
Senior Director of Technology and Business Process
Kortney brings 11 years of Property Management experience to JVM. Prior to JVM, Kortney worked for AIMCO in a variety of positions including, Regional Sales Training Manager, and Compliance Standards Manager for AIMCO's Midwest Division. Most recently, Kortney was the Community Manager of a 348 unit community where she oversaw daily operations, and successfully directed an $11M construction project. Kortney gained experience early in her career as a Leasing Consultant and Community Relations Coordinator. She is a Licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker, Certified Occupancy Specialist, (COS) and a certified RealPage, OneSite Trainer.
